June 2008
Deliverable: PowerPoint with key findings.
Objectives:
To conduct a panel discussion among oncologists specializing in lung cancer to review data presented at the 2008 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting, including ImClone’s FLEX trial for Erbitux® (cetuximab), and Eli Lilly’s Alimta® (pemetrexed) trial results as maintenance therapy. Secondary objectives include:

§ Define the current practices for NSCLC
§ Investigate how current practices have changed in the past 12 months
§ Solicit predictions for therapeutic changes foreseen in the coming 12 months
§ Analyze the results of ImClone’s FLEX trial
§ Describe the possible impact Erbitux could have on the use of Avastin
§ Determine what additional clinical evidence is needed in order to gain FDA approval for Erbitux as first-line therapy for NSCLC
§ Review the potential cost/benefit issues for Erbitux
§ Discuss the Alimta trial results as maintenance therapy and how it might impact overall utilization of the drug
