The results of Spirit IV were presented at TCT on September 23 in San Francisco. Spirit IV is a 3,690 patient head to head trial comparing Xience V versus Taxus Express. The trial indicated that Xience V was superior to Taxus Express. The primary endpoint was met for Xience V, with a 38% reduction in target lesion failure (TLF) compared to Taxus (4.2% for Xience compared to 6.8% for Taxus, p-value=0.001). Safety for Xience V was also better, as Xience achieved a 74% reduction in stent thrombosis per ARC definition compared to Taxus (0.29% for Xience and 1.1% for Taxus, p=0.004).
12. Based on the Spirit IV results presented above, how would the percentage of DES cases in which you use each of the following products change?
